Vilnius has one of the largest baroque old towns in central Europe, and most of it is free to walk.
Tap water is safe and Vilnius water is drawn from deep wells, so it tastes good.
Buses and trains link Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipeda cheaply. Vilnius to Kaunas takes about an hour.
