Olympic National Park entry is per vehicle for seven days and covers Hurricane Ridge, the Hoh and the coastal sections.
Hurricane Ridge Road closes overnight in winter and often needs chains. It reopens fully in late spring.
The Hoh Rainforest is two and a half hours from town by road, so treat it as a full day rather than an afternoon.
A passenger ferry crosses to Victoria in British Columbia in 90 minutes. Bring a passport and allow time for Canadian border checks.
