The airport tram runs to St Andrew Square in about 35 minutes, the Airlink 100 bus in 30.
Arthur's Seat is a 45-minute walk from the Royal Mile and the best view in the city, free and unticketed.
Trains reach Glasgow in 50 minutes and the Highlands via Stirling and Perth in under three hours.
