Metro line E runs from the airport to the centre in about 30 minutes.

The port lodges are in Vila Nova de Gaia across the bridge, not in Porto itself. Walk the upper deck of Dom Luis I to get there.

Livraria Lello charges a timed entry ticket that is redeemable against a book. Book online or expect a long queue.

Douro valley day trips run by road, rail and boat. The train from Sao Bento to Pinhao is the cheap scenic option.
