Trains from Riga take about an hour and run through the day. The station is a 20 minute walk from the centre.

The cable car across the Gauja valley links Sigulda and Krimulda and saves a long walk down and up.

Turaida castle and Sigulda castle ruins are on opposite sides of the valley. Allow a full day for both.
