Trains and coaches from Dublin take two and a half to three hours. Coaches are cheaper and run more often.

Music sessions run nightly on Quay Street and Dominick Street. They are free, and a drink at the bar is the etiquette.

Cliffs of Moher and Connemara day tours leave from the coach station each morning and are the easy option without a car.

Ferries to the Aran Islands leave from Rossaveel, about an hour west, with a connecting bus from the city.
