Turku is 2 hours from Helsinki by direct VR train, so it works as a day trip or a two-night stop.

Fori, the little river ferry, is free and has been crossing the Aura for over a century.

The Archipelago Ring Road links islands by free cable ferries and is best done over two days by bike or car.

Ferries to the Aland islands and Stockholm leave from Turku harbour, a short bus ride from the centre.
